The Alberta Export Awards are the province’s most prestigious awards, paying tribute to the success and innovative approaches of Alberta export companies. Extending across industries and including both rural and urban representation, the awards are a celebration of the contributions exporters have made to both the provincial and national economy.
Nominations for the 2017 Alberta Export Awards are now OPEN!! It’s never too early to nominate a deserving company; who through exporting, has made a significant contribution to our economy.
Thank you to everyone that applied for the 2016 Alberta Export Awards. With such extremely talented companies, it was hard to select only three finalists — so we didn’t, we accepted five in each category!
Recognizes Alberta companies that are engaged in secondary manufacturing, AGRI processing, production of value added products or components, machinery and /or equipment for industrial use. Demonstrating quality of their export plan through use of innovation and strategies to promote brand awareness in their new market(s).
Oil & Gas Service/Supply:
Featuring Alberta companies that are engaged in service/supply for the oil and gas industry. We’re recognizing these companies for showing notable growth in their overall business as a direct result of entering that new international marketplace.
Honouring Alberta for companies exporting products, goods or services geared toward sustainability, reduction of carbon emissions, water conservation, renewable energy and related products and services. These innovative companies demonstrated the ability to overcome obstacles or other unique challenges in entering new international market while keeping environmental techniques top of mind.
The Consumer Products Award recognizes an Alberta company that specializes in and exports end products for direct-to-consumer or retail markets. These companies produced goods or services that have significant Canadian content
Agriculture Food & Beverage:
Celebrating Alberta companies that are engaged in exporting food, beverage and agri-based products and services or Agriculture processes earning foreign exchange and making a contribution to the Canadian economy.
Includes companies or organizations that provide expert advice, technical support or educational programs to international customers recognizing they have established a presence in one or more geographic markets.
Advanced Technology & Innovation:
Recognizing companies that have effectively harnessed the powers of intellectual property and value-added know-how while demonstrated significant year-to-year percentage growth in value of export sales or increased sales volume over the past year.
This award honours an Alberta exporter who is starting to excel in international exporting and contribute to the province’s economic development.
Recognizes an organization or individual known for championing the cause of exporting in Alberta within their industry or field of expertise.
Honourary mention goes out to Streamline Automation, Nanalysis Corp., EMSCAN, Intelliwave Technologies and LJ Welding.
Exporter of the Year and all category winners will be announced at the Alberta Export Awards luncheon gala on Thursday December 8 in Edmonton, AB. See you there!
